Connected 2019 - Patchings Art Centre

April 6th-7th

As always with #Connected the exhibition is open to everyone to take part, all work displayed on the wall will be hanged thematically by the gallery and not artist grouped to allow the images to be the focus. Everything will mounted & framed professionally identically to give a consistent and professional exhibition appearance but again, and importantly, allow the focus to be the individual images.

The exhibition will run from the 30th March until the 5th May 2019 at Patchings Art Centre in Nottingham with the usual launch weekend and social events on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April. There will be 6 great guest speakers / performers over the two days to engage and inspire our guests. We are almost fully confirmed on our speakers and these will be announced in the coming weeks.

Saturday - Guest Speakers
Sarah Medway | Paul Sanders | Lucy Saggers

Sunday - Guest Speakers
Sam Gregory | Professor Tim Allott | John Blakemore

FotoSpeed Academy - Photography and Print Workshop - With Harrison Cameras

April 17th

Join Clifton Cameras and Fotospeed tutor Vince Cater for a workshop about how you can create the best possible prints of your photography.

Fotospeed believes printing the image is the final stage of any photograph. As such they want to educate as many photographers as possible on how they can leverage colour profiles for printers and the right paper to reproduce excellent colour and deliver the best print possible.

This workshop will begin in our academy with a discussion at 10 am that will last until 12:30 pm we'll then move things to our store to put Fotospeed to the test by printing images for attendees. Each participant will leave with a professional grade A3 print.

Bude, Cornwall. Print & Processing photography workshop

April 28th- May 2nd

Tutored by Antony Spencer and Joe Cornish

The Fotospeed Academy is delighted to work with ‘The Dragon’ herself Margaret Salisbury, to help support and advise you on putting together your own panel.

The April/May 2019 Leading Lights print workshop is based in Bude, an excellent centre from which to explore Cornwall’s north coast (and also, western north Devon’s), and includes specific training in print workflow and production, as well as our usual fieldwork sessions. North of Bude the coast faces due west, making beaches such as Sandy Mouth a classic sunset destination. Welcombe Mouth and Hartland Quay are other great locations further north, while Widemouth Bay and Milook Haven are geological wonders just west of Bude.

Lands End Cornwall Print and Processing Workshop

May 8th-12th

Tutored by Antony Spencer and Joe Cornish

The May 2019 Leading Lights workshop is based in the Lands End hotel, a simply unique place from which to explore Cornwall's ‘uttermost west’ and includes specific training in print workflow and production, as well as our usual fieldwork sessions. Although inevitably popularised in touristic terms by its status as England’s most westerly point, the cliff scenery here remains almost unmatched for its wild beauty. A great bonus for us is that the wonders literally start at the back doorstep, and will minimise the need to drive. We can take advantage of fast-changing weather conditions in a way that is impossible in most places. Depending on the weather and our progress with the printing element of the workshop we can also find amazing landscape at nearby Porthcurno, St Michaels Mount, Porth Nanven (with its famous granite boulders), Cape Cornwall and the iconic tin mining landscape of Botallack.
